All about Polyester (PET) Plastics

If you want excellent bang for your buck, polyester PET (polyethylene terephthalate) thermoplastics may what you are looking for. Polyester resins in particular, are the least expensive resin available on the market.

Polyester is an unreinforced, semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyester derived from polyethylene terephthalate. It has no centerline porosity so its fluid absorption and leakage is virtually zero. It’s ideal for automotive, food engineering and processing, conveyor technology, engineering for beverage filling systems, packaging and paper machinery, semiconductor technology, printing machines, mechanical engineering, and pharmaceutical industries.

Simply put, polyester thermoplastics are great…and here’s a few reasons why:

Great for outdoor use: This plastic has excellent wear and weather resistance so it performs well in outdoor applications.

Great for branding projects: Because it’s easily painted or stained, you can colour it to match your business brand colours, or even colour it for safety or aesthetic reasons.

Great for cost savings: It’s a very cost-effective solution for your projects when compared to other metals, or even plastics.

Great for demanding environments: It’s got good dimensional stability so it won’t easily warp or bend.

Polyester Plastics are also known for their ease of handling, great mechanical and electrical properties, and its’ excellent resistance to chemicals.
