All About Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF)

Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) is a popular thermoplastic used in applications that require high purity and excellent resistance to solvents, acids, and hydrocarbons. In addition to being machined by extrusion, it can also be formed by moulding and welding.

PVDF is a crystalline thermoplastic used extensively in the chemical processing industry, often as insulation or a protection cover, due to its desirable mechanical properties, including:

  • Excellent resistance to creep and fatigue
  • Excellent thermal stability
  • Excellent resistance to radiation
  • High dielectric constant
  • Working temperature from -20°C to +130°C

PVDF is also naturally UV resistant, so it will resist aging and discoloration.
