All About Acrylic…and how to use it for your next project

Have you considered Acrylic plastic for your next project? Acrylic is a versatile, clear plastic that resembles glass, but has properties that make it superior to glass in many ways.

Acrylic plastics are known for their glossy surfaces and are available in virtually any color. It’s often used for consumer products like shower doors, bath enclosures, windows and skylights, and is also a perfect choice for applications in:

  • retail environments,
  • the lighting industry,
  • in building and construction, and
  • the transportation industry.

So why choose Acrylic? It’s much stronger than glass making it more impact resistant and safer. It’s also lighter than glass and thus is much easier to transport and work with. Its transparency rate of 93% provides very transparent material.

Contrary to popular belief, Acrylic does not always yellow, and become brittle over time. When properly maintained, it can look new regardless of age and exposure. Some also worry that it scratches easily, and while that’s partially true, scratches can be easily buffed out (unlike scratches on glass).

Here are a few case studies where we used acrylic to create stunning installations:
